This book wasn’t as good as I expected as it didn’t hold my attention, especially in the first part of the book. I expected a bit more suspense as in the case of his father’s book on Gettysburg, but it just didn’t seem to deliver. I found the reading to get better as I plowed through it and I eventually finished it.
The book was extremely well researched, however, and it provided me with knowledge of the Africa and Sicily campaign in World War II, something I knew nothing about.
